Native American rituals and traditions are rooted in connection with all aspects of life, self, universe and the Great Spirit (God/Creator/The Divine/Waka Tanka). Therefore, the Native American practice of “animal medicine” embraces an awareness that reveals itself when a certain animal “spirit” that crosses our path.
The word “medicine” in Native American custom of animal medicine refers to the healing aspects that a particular animal brings to our consciousness. This would mean anything that supports, strengthens, restores, empowers, or revives the spiritual body, as well as the physical body. The animal spirit teaches us how to maneuver through Earth realm.
In up coming weeks, I will post different “animal medicine” elements and tips (rituals/meditations) on working with these energies.
